A: Please feel free to submit further questions to henry@hugocreate.com. We will reply ASAP, and add the most relevant questions along with answers to this FAQ list.
A: All prize winners will be contacted by email for verification purposes. Winners will be announced approximately 4 weeks after the end of each challenge (see timeline above for exact dates).
A: The jury consists of representatives of HUGO Fragrances and the HUGO BOSS Fashion Group and renowned experts in graphic design, illustration and photography.
A: The winners will be determined by an expert jury that will take into account the visual fit with our assessment criteria as well as the public vote. The jury will also choose an overall winner from the 10 different winners in the round.
A: While you are getting additional votes, so do other participants. If a lot of people are gaining similar numbers of votes, then the ranking may not appear to change much.
A: Public voting points for each visual are simply an average of all ratings given to the visual. Total amount of votes for each visual is also taken into account. Our rating system is set up with a time limit to eliminate repetitive voting on the same visual, but you may vote on an unlimited number of other visuals.
A: Go to the Gallery section. If you click on a visual thumbnail, you will be able to see the visual bigger and vote for it. There’s a rating scale from 1 to 5 stars. Click on the stars to rate.
A: You can submit up to 5 visuals. You can upload as many files as you want, but be aware that we will submit maximum 5 of your works for final jury review. What counts is the quality of your work, not the quantity.
A: You must be at least 18 years old to participate in the HUGO Create challenge. Each entrant under 18 years of age must have the verifiable consent of his/her parent(s) or legal guardian and agree to be bound by the Rules & Regulations. Failure to provide such verifiable consent will result in disqualification. If you are a winner, the prize will be awarded in the name your parent(s) or guardian.
A: There can be different reasons why we cannot accept your visual and display it in the Gallery. Firstly, your visual needs to feature the HUGO Man Bottle. The size and treatment of the bottle is up to you. We don’t ask you to use the HUGO logo but if you do, please make sure that you use the correct logo. You can download the official HUGO logo from the Submit section of the website.
Secondly, your visual needs to be in line with HUGO brand values, the creative task and the theme of the design contest. Take a look at the ‘contest theme and examples’ or at some of the other great work in the Gallery or Winners sections. If your visual has been refused, you can always improve your file and try to submit it again.
A: All submitted visuals need to be approved before they are displayed in the Gallery. If your visual is accepted it will be displayed in the Gallery within 24 hours, where you and other users can check it out and vote for it.
A: In the first step on the participate page click on “Generate”. If you click on the ‘help’ button, a demo reel will start to play, explaining all the different steps and possibilities.
A: You need to be the owner of the copyright and rights of use for every picture you use in your visual.
A: Please check that your visual does not exceed the maximum size indicated in the challenge brief and that your visual is in RGB color mode. Other reasons can be that you uploaded a wrong/damaged data file, or that you forgot to flatten your file and save it as a JPG.
A:
